Latest Victorian visitor results
According to the September 2009 International Visitor Survey results international overnight visitation to Victoria increased by 1.0% to 1.5 million visitors for the year ending September 2009, while international visitor expenditure grew by 11.8% to $3.8 billion.
There were 5.3 million interstate overnight visitors to Victoria for the year ending September 2009, a decrease of 2.4% over the previous year according to the September 2009 results of the National Visitor Survey. Victoria faired better than the national average (-6.9%) and that of key competitors New South Wales (-10.3%) and Queensland (-6.7%), all experiencing declines in interstate visitors.
