He worked in the media for three decades and had a distinguished career with Fairfax. Mr Hywood spent 17 years as a journalist with the Australian Financial Review reporting on business, national politics and foreign policy. He was appointed editor then publisher and editor-in-chief of the Australian Financial Review in the early 1990s. This was followed by positions as publisher and editor-in-chief of the Sydney Morning Herald and Sun Herald; then publisher and editor-in-chief of The Age Prior to joining Tourism Victoria, Mr Hywood was Executive Director Policy & Cabinet with the Victorian Government’s Department of Premier and Cabinet.
