Familiarisations

Print

The Familiarisations unit organises international media and trade familiarisation itineraries, supplies information and accompanies groups touring Victoria.

If you are a travel industry professional or an overseas-based journalist interested in participating in a familiarisation visit to Victoria, please contact your local international representative for Tourism Victoria.

The Corporate and Destination Communications team organises familiarisations for media based in Australia.

Hosting familiarisations provides the tourism industry with a cost-effective marketing tool, creating exposure for the supporting operators and regions to journalists, film crews and travel professionals.

Media familiarisations generate publicity worth millions of dollars annually in print and broadcast media.

Trade familiarisations provide the opportunity for retail and wholesale agents to experience accommodation and attractions first hand for inclusion in their retail and wholesale marketing campaigns.

The familiarisation program better equips the travel industry to sell Victorian product and enables journalists to write or broadcast from personal experience.

Victorian operators who would like to participate in a familiarisation, should contact:
Peter Janssen
Manager Familiarisations
Tel: (03) 9653 9781

Please note: Because of the nature of the program, operators involved with a familiarisation must be prepared to offer free of charge or a heavily discounted rate for their product.
