This brochure provides important bushfire safety tips for travellers staying in high bushfire risk areas, including information on Fire Danger Ratings and Total Fire Bans.

Driving in high-risk bushfire areas: safety tips for visitors

This brochure has important bushfire safety tips for visitors considering driving to or through high bushfire risk areas.

Hiking and camping in parks and forests: bushfire safety tips for visitors

This brochure provides important bushfire safety tips for people planning to hike or camp in Victoria’s parks and forests, including information on campfires and Total Fire Bans.

Can I or can’t I?

Developed by the CFA, this fact sheet details what you can and can’t do during the Fire Danger Period or on days of Total Fire Ban. 

Township Protection Plans

Developed for a number of communities by the CFA, Township Protection Plans contain local bushfire safety information including local bushfire risks and maps with key landmarks, routes and Neighbourhood Safer Places (places of last resort). A selection of hard copies is available to order.

Bushfire safety displays and signs

There are three Bushfire Safety Displays and Signs to choose from including a window hanger, pole signage and a multimedia display. Each one is designed to show the daily Fire Danger Rating, the latest updates on local fire restrictions and offer a range of information about fire safety.

A-frame Fire Danger Rating display

Designed to sit on a reception desk or counter, this A-frame display provides visitors with clear advice on what to do on days with a Very High, Severe, Extreme or Code Red Fire Danger Rating

Bushfire safety advice for travellers DVD

This DVD was developed in 2010 and is still available to order.

Bushfire safety staff badges

These badges encourage customers to ask visitor information centre staff for more information on bushfire safety.
