The ‘Geelong and The Bellarine: Come back down to earth’ campaign, positions Geelong and The Bellarine as a place where visitors can relax and be themselves. The region is a one hour drive from Melbourne and offers a traditional seaside experience for families and couples. It has all the ingredients for a memorable short break including historic seaside villages, beautiful beaches, the Geelong waterfront, award-winning wineries and sophisticated food. The campaign uses aerial images to highlight the depth of product on offer and the area’s lack of pretension.
Using Roy Morgan Value Segments ™, a unique target audience; Seaside Seekers was developed for Geelong and The Bellarine. Seaside Seekers are defined as Socially Aware people aged 35-44 years with and without children. They are from Melbourne, western and north western districts of Victoria, (including Hamilton, Warrnambool, Horsham and the Murray). The campaign launched in April 2007 and features newspaper advertising in Melbourne and regional Victoria, transit interiors (buses and trams) and a variety of online channels.
