2010 Australian Open Campaign
In partnership with Qantas and Japanese travel agencies HIS and STA, Tourism Victoria launched the 2010 Australian Open campaign in December 2009. The campaign was successful in driving an increase in tour bookings from both HIS and STA, even exceeding that of the 2009 campaign result. Through the promotion, Melbourne was projected as a compelling holiday destination with world class events. The campaign consisted of the production of a microsite and placement of a banner advertisement on popular tennis site, Tennis 365. In addition, Tourism Victoria placed a series of advertorials in Tennis Magazine in the lead up to the event. Singapore Airlines with the support of Tourism Victoria and other State Tourism Offices have jointly produced a microsite for Australia. The site provides promotional airfares to SQ's major gateways in Australia and recommended itineraries. Melbourne is promoted with the lead in airfares featuring the new daily A380 service.
