ATDW

ATDW is the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse.  All Victorian tourism operators who have a listing on visitvictoria.com automatically have a listing on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse

V3

VCubed Pty Ltd (V3) is the company that developed the Open Booking Exchange, which is the technology that makes Australian Tourism Data Warehouse content bookable online

OBX

Online Booking Exchange, the neutral booking platform that powers TXA.

Distributor

With regard to Tourism Exchange Australia, a distributor is an online website. These websites can be ‘direct to product’ websites, where the booking revenue is paid directly to the tourism product (ie www.visitvictoria.com) or ‘on-account’ websites, where the booking revenue is taking by the website and settled with the tourism product outside of the TXA.

Inventory

Inventory is the name used for your rooms, or seats or actual products you have for sale

Commission

Commission is an amount paid to a third party to sell your products or service.  Commission in the tourism and travel industry is one of the most popular ways to extend your sales force.  Commission is usually only paid as a percentage of booking revenue once a booking is made.

Inventory Database

An inventory database is the term used to describe a database of content or inventory that can feed into Tourism Exchange Australia from the product side.  Examples include last minute booking websites, the database of inventory managed by a visitor information centre or an operator’s property management system.

OMFS

Online Merchant Service Facility, provided by a bank or financial institution to allow booking revenue from online transactions to be deposited directly into your nominated bank account.
