Online Booking Exchange, the neutral booking platform that powers TXA.
Distributor
With regard to Tourism Exchange Australia, a distributor is an online website. These websites can be ‘direct to product’ websites, where the booking revenue is paid directly to the tourism product (ie www.visitvictoria.com) or ‘on-account’ websites, where the booking revenue is taking by the website and settled with the tourism product outside of the TXA.
Inventory
Inventory is the name used for your rooms, or seats or actual products you have for sale
Commission
Commission is an amount paid to a third party to sell your products or service. Commission in the tourism and travel industry is one of the most popular ways to extend your sales force. Commission is usually only paid as a percentage of booking revenue once a booking is made.
Inventory Database
An inventory database is the term used to describe a database of content or inventory that can feed into Tourism Exchange Australia from the product side. Examples include last minute booking websites, the database of inventory managed by a visitor information centre or an operator’s property management system.
OMFS
Online Merchant Service Facility, provided by a bank or financial institution to allow booking revenue from online transactions to be deposited directly into your nominated bank account.
