What are the added benefits connecting our centre’s current booking facility to TXA?

Tourism Exchange Australia gives you the ability to access more tourism product that can be sold through your centre. You set your own distribution commissions so you can protect your bottom line.

Importantly, the access to tourism products through TXA is based on live, real-time inventory; not allocation, so you may no longer need to call operators to see if they have availability. TXA also facilitates back end payment processes. This means when a booking is made, a VIC is not required to take any money and the invoicing and receipt generation is done within the TXA.

Most of our operators have on-request inventory and booking. Can they sell products through the Exchange?

No. All TXA participating product operators must offer real-time, instant confirmation inventory to the Exchange.

Our staff manage bookings and inventory for some of our smaller products. Can they still distribute through Tourism Exchange Australia?

Yes, as long as the inventory is available for instant confirmation and your VIC is connected to the exchange as an external supply partner.

How can VICs get involved in Tourism Victoria’s industry education program?

Tourism Victoria will be running regional e-marketing and online bookings across the State, in partnership with VICs and industry associations. To find out how your VIC can be involved, please contact our outreach consultant Paul Cooper at .

Our operators already have ‘Book Me’ buttons on visitvictoria.com that link to our booking service.  Will this change?

No. Operators are still able to have booking buttons that link to VIC booking systems. Please note that all booking buttons on the website must comply with certain requirements. (See below).

What are the visitvictoria.com ‘Book Me’ button policy guidelines?

Booking buttons to 3rd party (non-TXA) booking sites must link to a web page where a user can:

  • Book a product for a particular date
  • Securely provide payment online (via Credit Card, or payment service like Pay Pal) if prepayment or deposit is required for a confirmed booking.
  • Contact the property for more information if needed
  • Online bookings must be confirmed to the user within 24-hours
  • Providing a booking enquiry email address or phone number is not sufficient as the only method of online booking.
  • Products and rates available to users at the Booking URL must match those listed on visitvictoria.com. (If the operator has provided pricing and product details on their visitvictoria.com listing).
