Latest Victorian visitor results
Latest results indicate that international overnight visitors to Victoria have stayed longer and spent more than ever before. The latest results from the International Visitor Survey for the year ending March 2010 indicate that international overnight visitation to Victoria increased by 4.2% to 1.54 million visitors. International expenditure in Victoria also grew by 4.3% to $3.8 billion during the same period.
The latest National Visitor Survey results show that Victoria recorded a 2.0% increase in domestic visitor nights for the year ending March 2010, outperforming the national average (-1.3%). However, both domestic overnight visitors and expenditure in Victoria declined. Over the same period domestic daytrip visitation to and within Victoria increased by 10.7% to 38.3 million daytrips, outperforming the national average (+8.7%).For more on our research data see the Facts and Figures section.
