Thread Den stitches up a new sister in Fitzroy

Thread Den stitches up a new sister in Fitzroy

Melbourne's hip do-it-yourself sewing lounge Thread Den has opened a new shop and sewing lounge in the inner city suburb of Fitzroy.

Described as a sanctuary for sewers, fashion followers and lovers of vintage, Thread Den offers sewing classes, vintage fabrics and patterns, sewing machines for hire and a range of fashions from local labels.

The first Thread Den (in North Melbourne) was established by four Melbourne women in 2007. The new sister outlet, in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, includes a large street-level retail space for emerging designers and vintage clothing as well as an upstairs sewing lounge for classes and social sewing nights.
