New luxury walking experiences along the Great Ocean Road
Luxury accommodation property Moonlight Escape and Eco-Certified Australian Walking Tours have joined forces to create Luxury Walking, a new company offering high-end personalised walking and accommodation experiences along the Great Ocean Walk.
An example of a growing trend for ‘comfort in nature’ experiences – where nature-based outdoor and adventure activities are combined with high quality luxury and indulgence products – the new Luxury Walking short-break packages are designed for the discerning adventurer, offering a combination of exclusive accommodation, highly personalised food and wine experiences and a one to two day private guided walk of the Great Ocean Road coastline.
Running over two to three days and catering for groups of four to eight people, each package includes exclusive use of Moonlight Escape - the only property designed by internationally acclaimed Australian architect Glenn Murcutt that is open to the public, also offering breath-taking views of the southern ocean - tailored walks along the Great Ocean Walk accompanied by an exclusive personal guide from Australian Walking Tours; and all meals including a three course dinner hosted and prepared by a private chef using local and regional organic produce and breakfast hampers.
The guided walks, which depart from Apollo Bay, are adaptable to all levels of fitness and are tailored to each visitor group, with participants being able to choose any part or portion of the 104km long Great Ocean Walk along Australia’s most rugged and spectacular coastline that winds from Apollo Bay to the world renowned Twelve Apostles. An exclusive shuttle takes visitors to and from the walking locations.
