Tourism Victoria’s Accessible Tourism Plan 2010-2013 has been developed to encourage a consistent approach to accessible tourism issues. The plan recognises the social responsibility of providing accessible tourism and aims to encourage businesses to see the economic and social benefits of offering accessible tourism product.
The Victorian Tourism Workforce Development Plan 2010—2016 has been developed to ensure the State’s tourism industry achieves the target of employing 225,000 people by 2016. The plan addresses the key challenges in attracting and retaining individuals with the required skills and experiences.
Environmentally Sustainable Tourism Strategic Plan
Developed for the tourism industry, the Environmentally Sustainable Tourism Strategic Plan outlines the benefits of implementing environmentally sustainable business practices, while providing a framework to guide the Victorian tourism industry towards future sustainability.
A key focus of the sustainability plan is to establish linkages between sustainable businesses and consumers to ensure that Tourism Victoria and industry stakeholders can actively promote tourism businesses that are genuinely sustainable. Tourism Victoria has recently adopted a policy regarding the Identification and Promotion of such businesses.
