Regional Tourism Action Plan |
|
Tourism Victoria is developing a new Regional Tourism Action Plan 2008-2011. The plan will address various issues affecting tourism in regional Victoria and will provide an implementation schedule to translate the directions of the State Government's 10 Year Tourism and Events Industry Strategy into action. The new plan will also focus on many of the challenges raised at the inaugural Regional Tourism Summit held in early 2007. The Regional Tourism Action Plan 2008-2011 will replace the previous series of Regional Tourism Development Plans that expired in 2007. The new plan addresses cross-regional issues such as investment attraction, industry development, skills training, climate change and marketing, and will also identify key development priorities for Victoria's 11 tourism regions. Representatives from Tourism Victoria will meet with regional tourism stakeholders to discuss the key challenges and future opportunities. Agreed actions and priorities will be distributed to meeting attendees. These will provide valuable input to the new plan and feedback is welcome. Industry will also be provided with a draft of the plan for comment before its release in 2008. For further information regarding this planning process please contact Tourism Victoria's Strategic Planning Division. Each of the original plans covering the period 2004-2007, along with the regional updates are listed below. Gippsland Regional Tourism Development Plan 2004-2007 (2.1mb) |
